An Entire Country to Reach

God’s Calling

For Missionary Damon McKillop, the call to missions didn’t begin with a single moment—it was something God began planting in his heart from an early age.

Growing up, Pastor Damon had the opportunity to travel with his father, Bishop Dana McKillop, to several mission fields around the world. Those experiences exposed him to the tremendous need for the gospel beyond the borders of home and created within him a genuine love for people and a burden for the harvest. What he could not have known then was that God was using those early experiences to prepare him for a calling that would one day shape the direction of his entire family.

In July 2019, Pastor Damon and his family stepped away from the church they were pastoring in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, and travelled to Belize for what was originally planned to be just three months of missionary work. But what began as a short-term assignment soon became something much greater. God opened the door for Belize to become their full-time mission field, and the McKillop family embraced the opportunity to build upon the work that faithful laborers had established before them.
 

Today, that calling continues through the entire family. Their oldest son, Gage, and his wife, Esther, have returned to Canada, while Jayden and his wife, Markaly, remain in Belize, serving full-time alongside the family. Brody, Chloe, and Sadie are also actively involved, each playing a part in carrying the vision forward.
 

After years of serving there, Belize is no longer simply a mission field to the McKillops. It is a place filled with people they deeply love. It has become part of their lives, their family, and their calling.

Looking back, they can see the faithfulness of God in every step that brought them there. And looking ahead, they remain committed to the harvest—believing that some of the greatest things God desires to do in Belize are still ahead.
